This was the fourth novel that I read by Amis (I've since read Dead Babies) and the second that I have reviewed. The Rachel Papers by Martin Amis (1973). On the weekend I was lucky enough to be among the speakers at Clare Bowditch's Big Hearted Business Conference. I see that the last time I wrote, I had intentions of consuming a series of Martin Amis books and blogging on them. It's been months since I did anything on this blog. He was just 22 or some such obscene age when he wrote it (it was his first novel) -- and the mere thought fills me with rage and self-loathing. It's a very quick and satisfying read.
